You pay no charges if your line fails the installation tests.

SDSL is *slower* than ADSL. The current speed for SDSL is 1MB/s, ADSL is
available at up to 2MB/s, with the potential for four times that speed.
There are also far more stringent distance restrictions on SDSL.

Gamers don't need high access speeds, they need fast ping times.
Bandwidth is relatively unimportant for gaming, latency is all.
